Privacy notice
This notice covers the enquiry form at apply.alfredassistance.com.
Who is collecting your information
Alfred Mortgage Connect is an introduction service operated by Alfred Assistance Limited (company 9431273, NZBN 9429053709301), 41 Park Hill Road, Birkenhead, Auckland 0626, New Zealand. Contact: support@alfredassistance.com. We collect and hold the information.
What we collect and why
Your name, email and mobile number, and your answers to the form's questions: the region, what you want to do and when, whether you already have a broker, whether you already own property, the purchase price, mortgage balance, borrowing or top-up amount, roughly what your property is worth, your deposit, any pre-approval, your current lender, when you took out your mortgage, whether you'd move banks, who will be on the loan, residency status, household income, how you're paid or whether you're working, and if not, your work situation, the types of other debts and roughly how much you owe on them, your credit card limits and student loan balance, how you describe your credit history and, on older form versions, any optional recent credit issues, how ready you are, how and when you prefer to be contacted, and anything you add in the optional notes. Where you enter an amount or use a slider, we keep that dollar figure as well as the corresponding range. If you change your answer about already working with a broker, we keep your earlier answer as well as your final one. If you leave the form for 30 minutes we clear it. If the form we cleared had answered yes to that question, the next enquiry sent from the same browser tab says that an earlier one did. We do not treat that as your own answer, and Alfred may contact you to confirm before any adviser introduction.
We collect it to work out whether we can introduce you to a licensed mortgage adviser, so that adviser can contact you about your enquiry and come prepared, and so Alfred can call, text or email you about your enquiry, including follow-ups.
We also record that and when you verified your mobile and gave the required enquiry consent, the version of the agreement you saw, your IP address and browser, and which ad or page you came from, including the ad click and campaign identifiers in the link you arrived by.
We don't ask for bank account or card numbers, passwords or identity document numbers. Please don't put them in the notes.
Text messages
Before you send your enquiry, we send an automated text with a 6-digit code to the mobile number you enter. It is only to verify that the number is yours. The required enquiry agreement covers contact about this enquiry, including texts from Alfred and the adviser. The compact form uses one checkbox linked to versioned terms and conditions; earlier form versions use two required consent boxes. Neither format is pre-ticked.
Who receives it
If we can match your enquiry, we pass it to one licensed mortgage adviser firm in our network that helps with your kind of enquiry, and that firm contacts you. Advisers in our network work with borrowers from anywhere in New Zealand. When your enquiry is passed to an adviser, we text you who it is, unless you have opted out of our texts. If we move it to a different adviser firm, we may text you the new adviser's details in the same way. We don't sell your enquiry. The Meta pixel receives page and event data from this site, described below, and we do not send your email address or mobile number to Meta. We may share a SHA-256 hash of your email address and mobile number with Google (Google Ads) and TikTok for ad measurement, also described below.
If we can't match your enquiry, or need to check something first, Alfred keeps it and may contact you about it. It is not passed to an adviser unless it is matched.
Our service providers (such as hosting, database, backup and workflow tools, SMS and email) process your information on our behalf; some are outside New Zealand.
How Alfred is paid
The service is free to you. Adviser firms in our network pay Alfred for the enquiries we introduce to them. An adviser introduction is not guaranteed, and neither is a loan approval.
Is it compulsory?
No. But without your contact details, your answers and the required enquiry consent we can't take your enquiry, and without verifying your mobile we can't pass it on.
Advertising and analytics
When this is switched on, Alfred also keeps a private note of how the form is used, so we can see where people stop. The note has a random id for that visit, held in the browser tab. It is not your enquiry number, and it is not tied to your name, email or mobile. Each line also has the time since the visit started, the order of the lines, whether the browser or our server wrote it, and the time our server received it. We record which question was on screen and which one was answered, by a fixed question id and its place in the form, never the wording and never the answer. We record a Back press as the question or screen you left and the one you returned to. If a monetary answer is refused, we record only a short code: no amount was entered, it was not a whole number of dollars, or it was below that question's minimum or above its maximum. We do not record the amount. We record that the details screen was shown and completed, and a short code if that screen was refused: the contact details were not accepted, or the required enquiry consent was not given. We record that the review screen was shown, that the required enquiry consent was shown and accepted, that the code screen was shown, that a code was sent, that you asked for a text code, whether our server asked for the text, whether the text service accepted it, whether that send was unclear, failed or slowed, and the error code if the page itself could not send it: the send took too long, the reply was not one we could read, the page was offline, the number was not an NZ mobile, too many codes were asked for, or the send failed. We record that a code was typed (not the code), that it was verified or that the check failed, and a short code if the check failed: the code was incomplete, wrong, expired, or tried too many times, or the save took too long, the reply was unreadable, the page was offline, or the save failed. We record that you pressed submit, and, only after the code is verified and the enquiry is saved, that the form was submitted. We record whether the enquiry was accepted or dropped, with a short reason: saved, no place to send it, the save could not be reached, the save was rejected, or it was not saved. We record if the form ended early because the property is outside New Zealand, and if the page was hidden or brought back. We also store the campaign angle, which entry page you opened (the main form or the home-loans form), which form version you were shown, a broad screen-size group, the operating system family (iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac, or other), the numeric campaign, ad set and ad ids when the link has them, whether the link had a source, medium or campaign label and that label only when it is a short lowercase token, whether a Meta, TikTok or Google click id was on the link (not the id), and a broad browser type: Instagram, Facebook or TikTok inside the app, iPhone Safari, Android Chrome, a desktop browser, or another browser. We do not store your answers, amounts, name, email, phone number, IP address or the full page address. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we do not keep this note at all. The same is true if you open the form with measurement switched off. These notes stay in Alfred's own database, are not sent to Meta, Google or TikTok, and are deleted after 30 days. The last screen we saw does not tell us why someone left. Acceptance by the text service is not proof that a text arrived.
We use the Meta Pixel to measure and deliver our ads. It tells Meta that someone visited, how far through the form they got, and that a new enquiry was completed with SMS verification and consent. Progress is sent as the internal name of each question reached (for example “region” or “loan_band”) and its position in the form, and that the form ended early, which happens when the property is outside New Zealand. Some questions are only asked after certain answers, so a question's name can show what kind of enquiry it is, such as a refix or a top-up, or that a later call was preferred. We do not send Meta the answers you choose, any amounts, or your contact details. Meta's automatic button tracking is switched off.
Meta also receives what any web request carries: the page address, including the ad link you arrived by, your IP address, and browser and device details. It uses cookies to recognise a browser.
To avoid counting the same enquiry again after a retry, we send Meta, Google Analytics, Google Ads and TikTok a random enquiry receipt reference and keep a sent marker in your browser tab until it is closed. The reference does not contain your contact details or answers. For a new completed enquiry, we also tell Meta when our saved record confirms SMS verification and consent. Timing, readiness, whether you already have an adviser and the financial assessment do not decide whether it counts. We use the same reference and send no answers, amounts or contact details. This confirms a completed verified enquiry, not mortgage eligibility, qualification or delivery to an adviser. Incomplete forms and returning enquiries are not counted as new leads.
We also use Google Analytics to count visits and sent enquiries. It uses a cookie to recognise a returning browser, and receives a shortened page address showing only the page and a recognised campaign angle, your approximate location and basic browser and device information. We remove other address parameters and do not send the referring page address. It never receives your answers, your contact details or any financial information. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off.
When you submit a verified enquiry, we may share your email address and mobile number with Google (Google Ads) and TikTok as a SHA-256 hash, for ad measurement. A SHA-256 hash is a one-way scramble of those contact details. We do not send them the answers you choose or any amounts. The enquiry agreement on the form is about being contacted and about passing your enquiry to an adviser. It is not a separate ads opt-in. TikTok receives that hash only if our server sender is on. Google may receive it from this page when the enquiry is measured.
We use Google Ads to measure our Google ads. If you arrive from a Google ad, the link carries a Google click identifier. We keep it, and the time you arrived, in a cookie on this site for 90 days, so it stays with your enquiry if you come back to finish it, and we store it with your enquiry. We do not store that cookie if you opened the form with measurement switched off, or if your browser sends Global Privacy Control. When you submit a verified enquiry, the Google tag tells Google Ads, using the same random enquiry receipt reference, and we may send Google Ads the SHA-256 hash of your email address and mobile number described above, so Google can match the enquiry to an ad click. We do not send Google Ads the answers you choose or any amounts. Google Ads also receives what any web request carries: the page address, including the ad link you arrived by, your IP address, and browser and device details, and it uses cookies to recognise a browser. Ad personalisation is switched off for this tag.
We use the TikTok Pixel to measure our TikTok ads. The TikTok Pixel loads only on apply.alfredassistance.com, and not when measurement is switched off or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. If you arrive from a TikTok ad, the link can carry a TikTok click identifier and the ad group and creative identifiers. We keep the click identifier in a cookie on this site for 90 days, so it stays with your enquiry if you come back to finish it, and we store it with your enquiry. We do not store that cookie if you opened the form with measurement switched off, or if your browser sends Global Privacy Control. When you submit a verified enquiry, the TikTok Pixel tells TikTok, using the same random enquiry receipt reference. We may share the SHA-256 hash of your email address and mobile number with TikTok, as described above, once that server sender is on. We do not send TikTok the answers you choose or any amounts. TikTok also receives what any web request carries: the page address, including the ad link you arrived by, your IP address, and browser and device details, and it uses cookies to recognise a browser.
These tools come from third parties. We use pixels and similar storage technologies from third parties, including Meta, to collect or receive information from this website and elsewhere on the internet, and Meta uses that information to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads. We also use the TikTok Pixel, as described above. Google Analytics' advertising features are switched off, as described above. Google (Google Ads) and TikTok may receive the SHA-256 hash of your email address and mobile number when you submit a verified enquiry, for ad measurement, as described above.
Your choices: you can opt out of having this information used to target ads to you at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu, or in the ad preferences of your Facebook or Instagram account. To stop Google Analytics measuring your visits, you can install Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry and meet applicable legal requirements.

You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you, or ask us to stop contacting you, at support@alfredassistance.com. You can stop texts by replying STOP. If you're not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Not advice
Alfred isn't a lender or a financial adviser and doesn't give financial advice. Any adviser you're introduced to is responsible for the advice they give you.
